A little while back I had received an official letter in the mail. I opened it with guarded apprehension, and there it was, I was selected for JURY DUTY!! I actually had only received one other of these letters in the past and since I was very pregnant with one of the kids, I wasn't able to serve. This time, I really didn't have a significant health (or other good) reason not to fulfill what I thought was MY right and obligation to potentially serve. I had heard so many stories of the "inconvenience" and time "wasted" waiting to hear if they selected you to serve, but I went in with an open mind and lots of fun Photography reading that I wanted to catch up on! Well just a few hours into the process, they called my number. More questions and selections later and I was one of the 12. The case took 2 days total and I completed my obligation to serve York county as a jury member, but through it all, I was fascinated by the process, as well as, the time, dedication and quite frankly, the difficult and frustrating job of the law enforcement officers who were involved in this case. So as I was driving home that day, I felt like I wanted to give back - give something valuable to those who work hard to enforce our laws, keep us safe, and may even risk their lives to serve and protect our communities!!
Well today, I want to share some of the portrait images of one of the families in my Giving Back Series - The Green Family!! Mom had contacted Mary Williams Photography while they were still on vacation at the beach and was so excited to have their family portraits taken in the fall!! The week that we had scheduled their session, the forecast called for rain all week. That day didn't look promising, but wouldn't you know that a few hours before, the rain had stopped and the sun SHINED brightly for that exact hour!! - and SO did their SMILES!!
THANK YOU Green Family for giving ME the honor of giving back to YOU in appreciation of the work that your Law Enforcement Officer does to keep me, my family and our comm unities safe!!
